The ORP International school Observing with Adaptive Optics will take place at Observatoire de Haute Provence in France from 29th September to 4th October 2024.
VLTI schools of interferometry have been organized roughly every two years since the opening of the ESO Very Large Telescope Interferometer in 2002. They have helped to train hundreds of astrophysicists in using interferometry and the instruments at VLTI and other facilities for their research.
The European VLBI Network Symposium is the main forum for discussion of the latest Very Long Baseline Interferometry scientific results and technical and technological developments within the EVN member countries.
Important deadlines:
- For abstract submission: 10 June 2024
- For registration: 30 June 024
For more details see here.
This school will cover all the electromagnetic radiation from high energy gamma-rays to radio and also include neutrino and gravitational wave astrophysics.
It is aimed at astronomy/physics students who want to learn more about astrophysical observations at other wavebands and messengers. The school is mainly meant for PhD students, but also MSc students and young postdocs are encouraged to apply.
More information on the school and the application form can be found here.
The European ALMA Regional Centre network is organising an ALMA School for ALMA users, hosted by the UK ARC Node on 10th-14th June 2024 in Manchester. This school is designed to provide training on a broad range of aspects related to ALMA, including interferometry, data calibration and imaging, the ALMA archive, analysis techniques, ALMA science, and future ALMA developments.
